擁有經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、博物館學(xué)、政治學(xué)專業(yè)背景。2010-2014 年任國際博協(xié)城市博物館委員會主席，2013-2016 年任國際博協(xié)咨詢委員會主席。2016 年至今任國際博協(xié)主席。
　　2001-2008 年任土耳其歷史基金會多個博物館項目負(fù)責(zé)人，并連任該基金會副主席及董事會成員。2010 年，伊斯坦布爾被指定為歐洲文化之都期間，任該活動文化遺產(chǎn)與博物館事務(wù)處主任，負(fù)責(zé)土耳其博物館復(fù)興的模式提議、托普卡帕宮皇家庭院的戰(zhàn)略前景報告等主要項目。創(chuàng)立土耳其博物館專業(yè)人員協(xié)會，并于2011-2013年期間擔(dān)任首任主席。
　　現(xiàn)為土耳其歷史基金會受托人。同時，在米馬爾希南建筑藝術(shù)大學(xué)和伊斯坦布爾海峽大學(xué)分別教授本科及研究生博物館管理和文化遺產(chǎn)課程。

　　Ms. Suay Aksoy is the President of ICOM. She served as Chair of the Advisory Council (2013-2016) and as Chair of CAMOC, ICOM’s International Committee for City Museums (2010-2014). She has also been the founding Chair of the Association of Museum Professionals of Turkey (2011-2013). 
　　She has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in Museum Management and Cultural Heritage at the Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts and the Bogazi?i University, respectively, in Istanbul.
　　Ms. Aksoy worked as Director of Cultural Heritage and Museums at the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency. In that period she led various major projects like the Model Proposition for the Rehabilitation of Museums in Turkey and the Strategic Vision Report for the Imperial Courtyard of the Topkapi Palace. 
　　She is a trustee of the History Foundation of Turkey where she formerly headed the museum projects (2001-2008) and also served as a Board member and Vice-President for consecutive terms.
　　Ms. Aksoy has a BA in Economics, an MA in Political Science and a Post Graduate Diploma in Museum Studies.
